Tweed Heads Wedding Photographer
The Tweed Coast… where we began, are based and will stay.
Bird and Boy started in 2013 in Tweed Heads and since then has captured over 900 weddings! Take a look at our favourite venues, secret shooting locations and some real weddings to inspire your own special day.
How we started in Tweed Heads…
We first starting capturing weddings back in 2013 after years of being food photographers. It wasn’t until we were married ourselves at Mavis’s Kitchen that we realised how amazing it would be to actually capture weddings.

From that point on we ditched the food idea and started focusing on weddings. We took off quicker than we thought and became a trusted, local Tweed Heads wedding photographers, obsessed with the coastal landscape and unable to believe this was our “job”. We became extremely familiar with venues close to our home such as Summergrove Estate, Osteria, Babalou, Ancora and the Plantation House. Before long, we created a dream team of local vendors who made each wedding easy and unbelievably magical to capture.
Tweed Heads weddings are magical…

Osteria
Osteria is a sweet venue on the Tweed Coast which we have visited MANY times for our couples. The great thing about Osteria is it is so close to the beach and has wet weather options. A lot of our couples like to travel to Cabarita Headland, the hidden forest or the farmy hills for portraits. The venue itself has so many photo opportunities.

Summergrove Estate
Summergrove Estate was one of the first venues where we captured a huge wedding. It is absolutely breathtaking and everything can be done on site. We usually don’t leave during the package as we can capture everything from getting ready to the exit at the venue.

Plantation House
Now this is a beautiful venue and is the feature of our homepage feature image. The reason we love it here is that it is another one stop venue, meaning you can have the whole day here without leaving. The house is spectacular, the views are amazing and the experience lovely.

Pioneer Country
Pioneer Country is one of the newer venues on the Tweed Coast but is amazing because it includes an in-house planner and a liquor licence with a super late cut-off time. Their “one tree hill” is a nice open space which is perfect for portraits… plus it is about 3 minutes from our home!

Babalou is right in the middle of the famous Kingscliff street and straight across from the beach. They have ad a garden ceremony area and has a beautiful airy interior. Most couples go off-site for portraits such as the beach across the road or Cabarita Headland for more epic views and areas.
