Brisbane Wedding Photographer

Brisbane… home to urban, lush and historic wedding venues.

Bird and Boy started in 2013 in Tweed Heads but instantly fell in love with the Urban and romantic feel of Brisbane weddings! Check out our favourite wedding locations, venues and some real shoots to inspire your own day.

How did we start in Brisbane?

We first started our wedding photography journey back in 2013 when we were doing an accountancy degree at uni. We were working part-time as food photographers for recipe magazines to fund our education. Our close friends had just become wedding photographers in Byron Bay and their “job” seemed so much more exciting than what we were currently doing at uni. A few months later we ended our degree, stopped photographing food and started capturing love instead.

From that point, we started capturing weddings all over the coast and quickly became familiar with the Brisbane city and it’s surrounds. We were commonly seen at Sirromet, a range of waterfront venues and now at The Refinery, Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens and The Warehouse. The amazing thing about Brisbane is that there is such a variety of venues, portrait locations and hidden spots to suit all vibes. Urban, romantic goodness at its best.

We live on the Tweed Coast and have been capturing weddings in Brisbane since 2013 and shoot there regularly. We know the area so amazingly well and love how Brisvegas has a urban and romantic feel with lots of lush, green and waterfront options for portraits.

We have spent 13 years here on the Tweed Coast so know the Brisbane area amazingly well as it is only 1 hour away from us. We shoot here regularly and are often see at a variety of venues.

Depending on the venue, you may be able to stay on-site. However, if you would like to travel, it depends on what is nearby. We often shoot at the city rooftop areas, the street crossing, the Botanic gardens and waterfront areas.

We travel everywhere but you mainly find us shooting between Brisbane and Byron Bay.

It really depends on your venue and location. Some venues have easy parking whereas some are super difficult such as the inner city. In this case I would recommend hiring transport to help drop your guests and bridal party off.

We require a booking fee upfront to lock in your special day and the rest is due one month prior. We also provide payment plans if this is an easier setup for you and your budget.
