Babalou is an extremely popular wedding venue on the Tweed Coast located in the heart of Kingscliff. This venue caters for indoor and outdoor options, is full service, is close to all portrait locations and includes all styling.

Babalou is super close to our hearts as we are here ALL the time. Only 15 minutes from our house, this venue captures the importance of the Tweed Coast… coastal charm and styling, beachy views and warm afternoon sunsets. It is a venue we always recommend due to it being full service, licensed until 12am and able to hold up to 200 guests. Plus, it has an outdoor ceremony area with a wet weather option to help ease nerves. It is also super close to various portrait locations which makes the timeline feel easy and not rushed.

Our couples usually choose Rowan Robinson park for the ceremony space as it is just across the road. Babalou’s reception area is always a backup if there is rain. Portrait locations are usually Cabarita Headland if there is time to travel or the Kingscliff beach and seawall which is in walking distance. It is up to you and the vibe you would like for your photos. Usually our couples head over to Cabarita Headland if they have organised travel and have allowed enough time in their timeline. Another option would be the Kingscliff beach and seawall which is just opposite the venue and in walking distance. Plus, you can use the styling and coastal look of the Babalou interior if the weather isn’t cooperating.

The weather at Babalou is always lovely and the venue has an amazing air cooling systems to keep your guests cool. Plus, the big balconies allow for fresh cool breeze!

Yes, Babalou’s reception area always photographs nicely. It has a huge dance floor which gives us plenty of room to capture all the dancing and crazy moves after the drinkies have kicked in. The venue has floor to ceiling windows which allows for plenty of natural light and festoon lights for that more romantic feel. Plus, the styling really adds to the coastal luxe feel.
