Sunshine Coast Wedding Photographer

Sunshine Coast… home to iconic mountains, white beaches and lush hinterland.

Bird and Boy started in 2013 in Tweed Heads but instantly fell in love with the serene feel of the Sunshine Coast, the glass house mountains and the white sandy beaches. It is the epitome of a “destination wedding” area.

How did we start on the Sunshine Coast?

We first started our wedding photography journey back in 2013 while we were studying an accountancy degree at uni. At the time we were working part time as food photographers to help fund our education. Our close friends had just become wedding photographers in Byron Bay and their work looked so much more exciting than what we were doing! Not long after we stopped photographing food and started capturing love… the best decision we ever made!

Not long after, we found ourselves constantly drawn to the Sunshine Coast. There was something about the relaxed energy, the incredible light and the way the hinterland meets the ocean that just felt surreal. The couples were laid back and lovely, the venues were breathtaking, and everything about shooting here felt effortless and serene. It quickly became one of our favourite places to photograph weddings!

to your questions

We live on the Tweed Coast and have been capturing weddings on the Sunshine Coast since 2013 and shoot there regularly. We know the area so amazingly well and love how it feels like you have entered a whole new world of the glass house mountains, lush landscapes and beaches.

We have spent 13 years here on the Tweed Coast so know the Sunshine Coast area amazingly well as it starts only a couple of hours or so away from us. We shoot here regularly and are often see at a variety of venues… especially Maleny Manor and Montville.

Depending on the venue, you may be able to stay on-site. However, if you would like to travel, it depends on what is nearby. You can choose between the lovely beaches, hidden spots with views of the mountains and lush fields and landscapes.

We travel everywhere but you mainly find us shooting on the coast between Brisbane and Byron Bay and around the Scenic Rim and Sunshine Coast area.

Yes you will need a permit from the Sunshine Coast council if you would like to hold your wedding on any public beaches and parks. Just head to the Sunshine Coast website to apply!

We require a booking fee upfront to lock in your special day and the rest is due one month prior. We also provide payment plans if this is an easier setup for you and your budget.
