Gold Coast Wedding Photographer

The Gold Coast… beaches, hinterland and constant sunshine.

Bird and Boy started in 2013 in Tweed Heads, right next door to the Gold Coast and has since captured over 900 weddings! Take a look at our favourite local venues, hidden portrait locations and some real weddings to inspire your own special day.

How we started on the Gold Coast…

In 2013, we first started capturing weddings after being married ourselves on the Tweed Coast. We were living in Southport and were both at uni studying accountancy when we suddenly asked “What are we doing?” and we both left our degrees and started shooting weddings full time. This was the best decision we ever made.

Suddenly, we were taking on a large amount of bookings and shooting at local venues such as Braeside Chapel, The Boomerang Farm (now known as The Acre) and Sol Gardens (where we held our baby shower). Now you see us shooting weddings everywhere but always in or near the Gold Coast as we live so close. Where else can you find amazing beaches, sweet coastlines, hidden mountains and epic hinterland views?

Gold Coast weddings are wonderful…

to your questions

We live in Tweed Heads which is right next door to the Gold Coast. We started Bird and Boy while living in Southport so know the area incredibly well.

We have spent 13 years here on the Tweed Coast and the Gold Coast and know the area, venues and vendors incredibly well. Over time we have found hidden gems for the perfect portrait and elopement spots.

Yes of course! Depending on where you would like your mini shoot, we can find a hidden spot which suits! For beach shoots, you usually find us at Miami beach for the rock structures and nice coastline. For mini shoots which are to be more “greenery” based, we have a few sweet local options.

We travel everywhere but you mainly find us shooting between Brisbane and Byron Bay.

We can do either! It is up to you how you would like to use your hours. Some venues have lots of portrait locations whereas others we like to travel offsite to find some extra special hidden areas.

We require a booking fee upfront to lock in your special day and the rest is due one month prior. We also provide payment plans if this is an easier setup for you and your budget.
